Spreading Christ’s love, one soup packet at a time.
Statistics show that one in every five children in the Northwest go to bed hungry and that 34% of our kids in the Northwest and 21% of the elderly struggle with hunger issues. Homestead Ministries and our partners are working towards reducing these issues.
How You Can Help
You can help by donating commodities such as peas, garbanzos, lentils, wheat or barley. Don’t have a crop? Your time and services are welcome also. Cash donations are also accepted to help with purchasing products, supplies and transportation.
Volunteers are always needed to build soup mixes, put together spices or help other groups build the soups.
How It All Works
The Homestead Ministries team purchases the commodities, spices, bags and everything else needed to make the soups. Thanks to great partners, we have purchased a utility trailer that is designed to haul the items needed to assemble these meals. Then we travel to churches, schools or other organized events and with a team of volunteers we assemble the soups. Those soups are then delivered to local food banks and churches to be given to those in need.
